THE RADICAL SHIFT

POWER

Power is automatically associated with physical control, either direct or implied.  For this reason, and for all that has been already said in this blog about the nature of the genders, it is natural that men hold it vis à vis the external world and women in the inner realms. The fact that this division has existed for as long as we can remember, reflecting the nature and energetic structure of the genders, does not mean that women and men are not equally endowed for all modalities of power. Still, the physical and mental forms have dominated our world up to now, and for a reason.  Women were not equipped to handle it in the manner and to the extent to which it is being wielded today.

It would seem that a certain amount of stability and security is needed before a more subtle form of power can prevail.  In those contexts the inner constitution of woman stands revealed; her power as priestess, as mother of the race and ancient sage is then recognized, her influence paramount, although always in the background, allowed or disallowed by the world of men.

If we search for notable woman in antiquity, we notice that “notability” is invariably related to an activity that may be witnessed and confirmed. In other words, it is subject to the same parameters as men, to physical and mental attributes.  Importance is attributed to what she “does”; rarely is it expressive of what she “is”.  The greatness and power of a woman as a result of her nature, influence, and ability to impact creation cannot be physically evaluated.  The inner world is a mystery; its power is unlimited and feared for being uncontrollable.

THE INNER WORLDS

There has always been imbalance between the inner world of an individual and outer manifestation.  Few apart from women know how closely linked they are.  But there are inner worlds and inner worlds.

There is an inner world shared by both genders.  This version refers to sentient ability.  It is equated with emotions and sentiment, the stuff of symbol, and psychology.  It is the storehouse of feeling that relates experiences to one another, each embellishing or diminishing the image of self, and competing in order of intensity.

We simply cannot say that men do not feel, or that they are not emotional.  Their inner world, like our subjective world, is identical.  However, it is the quality of the feeling and the emotions that is different in women.  It is the nature of the inner world itself that is at variance here, and not the feelings that swim through its waters.

There is another dimension to this feeling inner world that is not emotional or abstract.  It has to do with the kind of radar a woman, by virtue of her gender, possesses.  What makes women’s emotions so powerful is not the feeling capacity itself in as much as what holds it together.  It is a woman’s inbuilt sense, used to gestate, care, and guide humanity.

A woman’s inner world provides a kind of alternate reality that is not a replica of the ordinary world.  It is a realm of simultaneity and movement, where all impressions hold equal value. This inner world has been the same in antiquity as in the modern world.  It is connected to the subtle senses and bypasses intellectual categorization.  It is foreknowledge and forewarning.  It is a very complex computer of impressions revealing fact and possibility that time cannot reorder.

Women’s inner world to a certain extent lay dormant, secret, and inexplicable as far as the outer world was concerned, for lack of the intellectual skill to sort it out.  Today, when women have acquired the ability to handle mental concepts and abstractions, to reach high levels of prominence and leadership in the world, to follow higher education in greater numbers throughout different cultures, the old justifications for dominance and power no longer hold.

CURRENT REALITY AND NEED

The inner world of women contains the same psychological and intuitional mechanisms as men, but with the added dimensional capacity of her inner nature as woman.  Whereas only select and very privileged women had the access, understanding and management skills of feminine potential in antiquity, today this is available to any who would take the time and effort to listen, sense, feel, decode and apply it.

The inner woman is she who reclaims her true inner world, and she is truly formidable.  She is not the intense but contained, passive force of yesterday.  Neither is she the hysterical, irrational specimen of men’s fastidiousness, nor the impossibly idealistic model of male poetic fantasy.  She has attained a position she has never ever had before.  This suggests that her power is equal, even greater, to that of men.

THE ISSUE OF EQUALITY

Gender arose in a three-dimensional world model to provide two alternate ways of evolving, exploring, and experiencing life.  Its purpose, coated in the simulacrum of enjoyment, is the refinement and progressive excellence in the management of power of all sorts, and in the creation as well as construction of reality.

Experience itself is subject to physical imperatives in a developing world.  The priority of order and form gave women her place with children, the home and supportive services, and placed men in leadership and defensive positions in our common world.  It has been separate but not so equal.

In a very real but invisible way, and in spite all the affirmations to the contrary, this inequality continues.  Many women do not yet live their truth in their relationships with men and his world. They continue to yield, to be ruled by fear and accommodation, by pity, by comfort, and by a need for outer parameters, all of which they call love, patience, and tender loving care.  The emotions of the inner world dominate the inner faculties of perception with which she has been endowed.  The real inner world remains out of reach, until she makes the effort to control her emotions and break free of social programming.

Now, the possibility of real equality exists and it is not men who are holding us back.

For the first time in this cycle of humanity’s history the genders are being urged to develop in simultaneous and separate ways, each whole in themselves.  This is causing tremendous upset in all aspects of society, and of course in relationships.  Neither gender is very willing to accept it because it entails a difficult if not arduous resistance to programming and a radical change in our conception of the purpose of life.
